Without A Doubt - "Tarzan" Owner: Carole |
|
|
Tess felt it first. After riding countless
horses for nearly 10 years, including many
of Sharon's babies, Tess started riding
Tarzan a year ago. That first ride was
followed by hundreds of courses, the
Emerging Athletes Program, and seemingly
endless shows. A bond was formed, one that
said "Tarzan is the one."
Then I felt it. I started riding Tarzan last
July. With enough spunk for my daughter and
enough heart to keep me in the saddle, the
bonding continued. Both Tess and I had a
wonderful 2009 show season and did various
clinics, thanks in large part to Tarzan. I
thought, "Tarzan is the one."
Finally, Santa must have felt it as well
because on Christmas morning, we had a new
addition to the family! "Without a Doubt",
it was our best Christmas ever. (Still don't
know how Santa got Tarzan down that
chimney.......)

Zanzibar Owner: Tess |
|
|
If Tess' parents heard it once they heard it 100 times. "I LOVE JUMPERS". And while Tarzan was a wonderful ride, he wasn't a jumper. But, as fate would have it, his half-bother LOVED to jump.
It seemed as if the higher the jump, the happier he was. Tess' parents thought, "Gosh that sounds just like someone we know". And of course he had a star, in
the shape of the Lone Star state of Texas where Tess was born, made it seem almost predestined.
So Tarzan and Zanzibar were united with Carole and Tess. And there they lived happily ever after!

Amarosby - "Jumbo" Owners: Jackie and JC |
|
|
We have had Jumbo since he was 8. He is
quite the character! He has pretty much done
a little of everything. Western pleasure,
3-day eventing, you name it he has probably
done it!
Jumbo misses jumping since he was retired a few years
back. He recently came out of retirement and loves
it when the kids around the barn groom him and fuss all over him. He especially loves being a part of the "Party" rides for the "older" kids.
But he always seems to know when I need him
for a good ride into a steady wind.
We have been boarding with Sharon since 1993 except for
about 6 months when we moved to Northern Virginia.
She was sweet enough to come get him and bring him back
"home". It is by far the greatest place to board! |

Ashton ESG - "Watson" Owner: Laurie |
|
|
Already having a nearly perfect horse in Tuuli and a new pony, I was once again bitten by the ‘Gotta Have Another One’ bug.
Watson AKA Ashton ESG (named for a very expensive cigar)had arrived from Denmark and was destined to become a hunter.
I made the trip to see him and knew right away I had to have him! I guess I thought I had it in me for one more challenge before I turned in my chaps.
God answers prayers even about horses!

Afonwen Rhianna "Uh-Oh" Owner: Laurie |
|
|
UhOh is the same age as my grandson, Ross. I
bought UhOh so my grandson would have a pony
to grow up with. I think a good barn
offers great learning opportunities for
children.
Ross was a bit disappointed with his pony at
first because UhOh was not his favorite
color. When I asked what color pony he
wanted his response was "BLUE!"
Well, I think the pony has grown on him
since he won his first blue ribbon at ECETC
and now his second blue ribbon at Princess
Anne Stables.
I guess if you can't have a blue pony you
can at least win blue ribbons on her. Ross
also got to paint his pony at ECETC's summer
horse camp.

Ace of Hearts- "Ace" Owner: Bridgett |
|
|
I bought Ace about two years ago. He didn't
know how to jump when I got him and Sharon
helped me train him. He is now competing
around VBHSA and was Champion in the Special
Hunter Division at ECHSA.
Ace is one of my best friends and quite a
character. He loves attention and follows me
anywhere. He is a Sprite and Ginger-snap
lover and will bother anyone for treats.
Ace
is very easy-going and very laid back as
well as sweet. I love him very much. |

Sealed In Paint - "Seal" Owner: Jeri |
|
|
I purchased Seal for my daughter Jeri
from Sharon almost a year ago. Jeri and
I fell in love with Seal the first time
Jeri rode her in a lesson.
The two of them have become quite the
pair and have come along way, thanks to
Sharon. |

"Brie" Owner: Julie |
|
|
Brie is the sweetest horse with a wonderful
disposition. She is never mean and
loves a good cuddle with Julie's dad.
She has the most awesome stable manners and
is in all respects an integrated member of
our family.
Julie got to know Brie when we moved to the
United States in 2007. Brie's owner
was looking for someone to ride her a couple
of times a week and it was love at first
sight! We bought Brie in 2008 - a big
surprise for Julie.
Brie loves to run and gives a really good
sprint if asked for. She is also very
versatile and together with Julie they make
up a very strong Jumper team. They
even finished 3rd in the 2009 VHSA Low
Jumper category.
|

"Mocha" Owner: Emilie |
|
|
In 2008, Emilie was looking for a horse to
ride and tried several horses and ponies at
ECETC. However, when she met ECETC
pony, Mocha, she was no longer in doubt -
Mochas was pony for her.
Mocha will jump any jump, cut any corner and
probably even jump both sideways and
backwards if required. She is, to say
the least, a fast pony. She is also
known as the "Crazy Pony" and Emilie is
often referred to as "Velcro Butt."
Together they make up a strong Novice Jumper
team and they won the 2009 VHSA Year-end
finals.
In spite of her feisty style, Mocha is also
a sweet pony. She will lean against
you and close her eyes when you pet her.
She is very patient when not in the ring.
She plays an important role in Emilie's and
our family's daily lives.
|

"Boomer" Owner: Erin |
|
|
Boomer and I have been together since 2000. I got him when he was 18½ months old.
It has been a long and rewarding friendship.
We compete in eventing which best utilizes
the bond that has been created between us.
There is no better feeling than running and
jumping cross country and moving as one.
Boomer is my true love and expect nothing
but the best care for him.
This is the kind of care that Boomer
receives at East Coast. Whether it is from
Sharon and her vast knowledge or her kind
and caring staff, I never have to worry
about Boomer because I know that he is in
the best hands in the area.

Wizard of Oz - "Ozzie" Owner: Autumn |
|
|
Autumn first rode Ozzie when she was 4 years
old. Ozzie is such a sweet, very easy, and
tolerant pony. She fell in love with him
right away.
Unbeknownst to Autumn, I purchased him for
her that same month. By her 6th birthday,
Autumn had saved up $250.00 to purchase
Ozzie on her own.
She worked hard doing chores around the
house. I was very impressed with her
dedication and commitment that I finally
told her (on her 6th birthday) that Ozzie
was hers. She was so excited.
Over the past 5 years, they have both grown
and matured together (with Sharon's help).
They make such a wonderful team. |

Who's Your Daddy - "Romeo" Owner: Ellie |
|
|
I started riding Romeo in late July of 2010. I fell in love with him the first time I rode him.
He has quite the personality and can be very sassy. I personally think its funny when he is sassy.
A couple months ago Sharon told my parents that someone was going to buy him. After they heard that, they bought him for me!
He is truly the best horse ever, not even a million dollars could buy me a better horse.
|

"Star" Owner: Jill |
|
|
I have always wanted a horse and my dad finally said I could get one.
We asked Sharon to help look for us and one day she called my dad and me saying she wanted us to come try out two horses at the barn. We did and Star was one of them.
I fell in love with her instantly. I couldn’t ask for a better pony.
|

"Dakota" Owner: Katelyn |
|
|
Every girl deserves to find a knight in shining armor. I found mine in Dakota. He’s sweet, loving and a total gentleman.
My mom finally gave into my constant desires for my own horse and it’s been like a fairy tale dream come true.
Dakota and I love all the same things....food, riding like a breeze in the air, food, walking the trail, food, dressing up, and did I mention, food???
I wish everyone could be as happy as Dakota and I are together.
