Working with ECETC & ECSH
Employment

Stall muchking
If you have looked through the many pages of this site, you have seen there are plenty of opportunities to learn about riding, training, showing, boarding, breeding and sales!  There is also a lot that goes on in the background that keeps ECETC running smoothly.  ECETC insists on a high standard of care for the horses and clients.  The horses must be exercised, fed, groomed, stalls cleaned, tack oiled, stable swept, pastures and grounds maintained and horses prepped for shows and sales.

Horse shows and events require a lot of work, including the preparation work such as setting up courses, getting mailers and flyers, as well as participation in the shows or working the shows, ring stewards, show secretaries, etc.  So you can see there is plenty of opportunity to gain a wealth of experience in the equestrian business world with ECETC.

ECETC employs working students as well as full-time and part-time staff. Positions can include horse handlers, stall cleaners, instructors, camp counselors, and facility maintenance personnel.

Working Student Program
This program allows the student the opportunity to gain riding experience and equestrian knowledge in exchange for working at the ECETC facilities.  It is NOT a paid position and housing is not provided.

All students are expected to do many of the same day-to-day duties as those expected of the permanent staff.  This can include but is not limited to exercising, feeding, grooming of horses and ponies, stall cleaning, tack cleaning, pasture and ground maintenance as well as preparing horses for shows and sales.

The program includes learning about equestrian health and care, improving riding skills, and opportunities for competition.

Students need not bring their own horses but may do so.
